Welcome to the NEO Dachshund Picnic Website |
The North East Ohio Dachshund Picnic is a yearly event that started in 1998. The picnic is held on the second Saturday of July. The venue for the the picnic has changed over the years. The first picnic took place in a back yard in North Royalton, the second picnic was in a park in Canton and the third and fourth took place at Hardesty Park in Akron. Last years picnic (the 13th) was held at Plum Creek Park in Kent, Ohio. Hopefully everyone had a good time!

The 13th Annual NEO Dachshund Picnic took place on Saturday July 10, 2010. We had a beautiful day for this picnic - No rain in sight. It was in the mid-80's which was a great relief to all from the mid-90's and high humidity from the previous 6 days.
The current "registered" count of attendees is: 383 Dogs and 525 people.
There were a number of new attendees at this picnic. I hope they all had a great time and will visit us next year. Also, I would like to thank our regular attendees. You make this picnic what it is.
Hats off and many woofs to Coast to Coast Dachshund Rescue that were grilling and selling hot dog. I'm sure you made a lot of folks happy with the food and cold drink.
And finally - the vendors. Your items make a lot of folks happy when they see the unique "dachsie" related items that you have for sale.
Hope to see you all at next year's picnic - the 14th!

The 12th Annual NEO Dachshund Picnic took place on Saturday July 11, 2009. The day started not very good with the threat of severe thunderstorms. A downpour started about 10:30. There were a few VERY close lightning strikes.The skies started to clear about 12 noon (the official picnic start time) and there was blue skies and sun by 12:30. When the sun came out - so did the people & Dachsies.
The official attendance count is Humans - 518 Canines - 334. This is the lowest attendance that we have had in the past 7 years. Our normal attendance is twice or better than these numbers. We have been blessed with clear warm days in the past hopefully they will return int the future!
Thank you to all that attended and enjoyed the day.

This web site was modified this past weekend (September 16, 2008). It was moved to a new Server (faster) and new web content management system.
This upgrade was slightly problematic with the arrival of the remnants of hurricane Ike - when power was lost during the upgrade and
data was corrupted. Hopefully things are all back now the way they are supposed to be.
Please send email if you are seeing strange things.
