Welcome to the NEO Dachshund Picnic Website

The North East Ohio Dachshund Picnic is a yearly event that started in 1998. The picnic is held on the second Saturday of July. The venue for the the picnic has changed over the years. The first picnic took place in a back yard in North Royalton, the second picnic was in a park in Canton and the third and fourth took place at Hardesty Park in Akron. Last years picnic (the 13th) was held at Plum Creek Park in Kent, Ohio. Hopefully everyone had a good time!

The 12th Annual NEO Dachshund Picnic took place on Saturday July 11, 2009. The day started not very good with the threat of severe thunderstorms. A downpour started about 10:30. There were a few VERY close lightning strikes.The skies started to clear about 12 noon (the official picnic start time) and there was blue skies and sun by 12:30. When the sun came out - so did the people & Dachsies. The official attendance count is Humans - 518 Canines - 334. This is the lowest attendance that we have had in the past 7 years. Our normal attendance is twice or better than these numbers. We have been blessed with clear warm days in the past hopefully they will return int the future! Thank you to all that attended and enjoyed the day.
