The 12th Annual NEO Dachshund Picnic took place on Saturday July 11, 2009. The day started not very good with the threat of severe thunderstorms. A downpour started about 10:30. There were a few VERY close lightning strikes.The skies started to clear about 12 noon (the official picnic start time) and there was blue skies and sun by 12:30. When the sun came out - so did the people & Dachsies. The official attendance count is Humans - 518 Canines - 334. This is the lowest attendance that we have had in the past 7 years. Our normal attendance is twice or better than these numbers. We have been blessed with clear warm days in the past hopefully they will return int the future!
